Floke: A Circular Construction Industry - Byggfloken

Innovation processes require goals, direction, and energy. To find answers, we need to know where to look. That’s why we undertook an extensive round of discussions with many key players across all three sectors in an exercise we call "100 coffee cups." We asked the same two questions: What are the sustainability challenges in this industry, and where should we start creating solutions?

The responses we received were distilled into simple directions we could begin to explore. We refer to as innovation areas or a strategic architecture that we can build upon.

To create something new, we must learn something new.

At the beginning of the Floke innovation program, key insights were refined to develop constructive and relevant solutions for Byggfloken. These key insights were revealed through the three lenses of innovation, based on underlying curiosity.

Project portfolio

On Thursday, September 13, 2018, nine of the 19 concepts aimed at contributing to the transformation of one of Norway's largest industries were launched. Over 200 people attended at the former premises of Norges Bank at Bankplassen 4 in Oslo, for what became Norway's largest gathering for circular economy in the construction industry.
